have you guys heard about the last installment of the “as the liberal media turns”? meaning, the whole thing with rush. for those you don’t have a clue of what i am talking about you need to watch more football. recently rush limbaugh had been working on monday night football for espn. i thought he was doing a great job. on one of his rants he said something to the effect that donovan mcnabb (quarterback for the eagles) was overrated and the media made him so because he was black. a few days later he was forced to resign from espn because of the statements.
although i would have not said it, i believe he has a right to his opinion. i believe that he was hired at espn for being the controversial entertainer he is. you have to expect him to say something to get a rise out of people, but how the media crucified him was terrible. basically they are saying that they believe in free speech as long as you say something that doesn’t piss them off. it makes me mad that there is such a blatant double standard in the media.
take rush for what he is, an entertainer. put no more stock into his outrageous thoughts than you would for tom green. they do what they do to get eyeballs which equals cash. i am a conservative. i like some of what rush says. i don’t like some of the other stuff he says, but i don’t want to take away his right to say it. i have the choice of not tuning in and so does everyone else. i don’t think his comments were racial but if you do don’t watch the segment of the show when he comes on. turn the channel. if there are really that many people upset the ratings during his segment should reflect that and he would be let go accordingly. we will really never know.
what are your thoughts? with enough of you guys living on the coasts there our bound to be some liberalism seeping through the cracks to comment, hehe (especially the liberal in conservative clothing in st. louis
