settling down

What a busy week! First off, I am finally in the new house and starting to settle down a bit. Last night we purchased a lawn mower (a Troy Built with a Briggs & Stratton engine, yahoo ;) ). Secondly, I have my cable modem and high speed internet up and running. I have 1.5 mbps down with it going to 3 mbps by May. I also have a Linksys wireless router hooked up running a 802.11g network with WEP enabled. I also have six Ethernet drops throughout the house that will be plugged into the router for ultimate connectivity. We will have to plan a guys night out LAN party at the house and do a little fragging on UNREAL Tournament 2004. I was also sick for most of the week which made it real hard to get into moving.

On the music side of things a couple of music recommendations for those emo/hard rock listeners out there. First, Emery released an album on Tooth and Nail records called The Weak’s End that is really good. It is emo rock with some keyboards thrown in. That may sound weird but it is really good. There is some really good, well placed screaming thrown throughout. Dead Poetic also released an album. Their album was released on Solid State Records, Tooth and Nail’s child label for hard music, called New Medicine. It is a lot like the Emery album. It doesn’t have all the keyboards that the other album has but still is a very good listen.

For those computer inclined inDUHviduals there is a new site Microsoft put out that tries to give you an in to the people at the Evil Empire ;) . The web site is http://channel9.msdn.com. I would recommend watching the Bill Hill video where he talks about the most important operating system. The video with Chris Sells and a tour of the MSDN offices is really sweet as well.

Well that is all for today, later.

trump needs lessons

Man did you see the last episode of The Apprentice last night? Bill won, as I think he should have. Let me tell you though, Donald Trump SUCKS at live TV. He was driving me crazy with his constant looking at the teleprompter. At one point he was suppose to be talking to Bill yet kept looking a little left and down of the camera! I hate it when guest on Saturday Night Live do this, but come on, how long did he have to memorize his lines? With all that money you think he could afford on of those memory expansion programs we all see and hear on infomercials. He couldn’t even talk in complete sentences. I love the show, but no more live TV please.

On a side note, congratulations to Ed on the birth of his son Edward John Emmanuel III, his legacy lives on. I am definitely reminded of Nathan Ketchum’s words on this one, “If God won’t stop you, the government should!” ;)
